Modernization of Building Facades and Entrances / Construction Phase
In Association with Dattner Architects

The revitalization of two older New York Citiy Housing Authority sites with 31 buildings is funded under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Hope VI Program.  The program calls for interventions to make the buildings more attractive for new residents through the addition of new lobbies, facade restoration with decorative elements, and a central CCTV security system. The Architects are responsible for the coordination of the building, site and landscape designs with the goal of unifying the two sites under the new identification of Ocean Bay Apartments.  James McCullar Architecture, PC are responsible for Arverne Houses, shown above, while Dattner Architects are responsible for Edgemere Houses.
